Work
2008-: I'm currently a visiting researcher at Imperial College London's new Computational Creativity Group where I investigate AI methods for games and visual art.
2003-2008: SWiSHzone.com (Sydney) developing Flash authoring tools including SwishMax, the world's second most popular Flash editor.
1999-2003: Returned to CISRA (Sydney) for a few years. Great place!
1998-1999: Spent a year at Microsoft (Seattle) working on GDI+ fonts for the NT Team.
1997-1998: CISRA (Canon Research, Sydney) working on automatic font decoration. CISRA had just implemented a new font format and needed someone to develop artistic styles that might tempt customers to use more ink (examples). Jobs like this don't turn up every day.

local possum enjoying the cat bites. Helen named this fellow Hannibal
due to his habit of nibbling on fingers that hold out apple cores.

Well, I gave it a go, but after six months of strenuous growth decided that some things are better left unconquered. This was less to do with my work mates joking about sending snaphsots in to ASIO (beard-growing was a threat to national security at the time) than the fact that it was just getting bloody uncomfortable.
