Founded in 1988, this research-based centre is, along with the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford, one of the largest and most active centres in Refugee Studies in the world. The Centre fosters interdisciplinary and collaborative research. It produces Refuge, a periodical on research on refugee issues. The website provides links to many online resources, particularly in USA and Canada, as well as offering information on accessing refugee library resources and contacting CRS members for interview purposes. The Center advocates interdisciplinary research. Established in 1999 and based at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, the CGRS focuses primarily on researching issues around and supporting female asylum seekers and refugees fleeing gender persecution. The center’s research is used primarily to help develop law and policy. The website provides background information on CGRS as well as detailing its current projects. In addition, it provides links to CGRS publications and newsletters as well as a large volume of current and archived news articles.
