My favourite sports are squash, tennis, racquetball, and anything else that involves running around belting the crap out of small rubber balls. My greatest sporting achievement was being the #1 squash player in the University of Queensland college competition in 1990. The hollow feeling left by the poor media coverage of squash is somewhat tempered by the excellent web sites provided for the major tennis tournaments:

Australian Open French Open Wimbledon US Open   Motorbikes I have an unhealthy interest in motorbikes. This includes the MotoGP and  World Superbike races.

Sailing

Helen and I both love sailing, and try to hire a yacht and mount an expedition every year. Sailing is a wonderful combination of relaxation and terror and a great way to visit new places. So far we've taken on:

• The Dodecanese (2001)
• Nouvelle Caledonie (2002)
• The Ionians (2003)
• Tonga (2004)
• Turkey (2005)

Ligament Tearing

I used to do a bit of skiing before tearing both anterior cruciate ligaments, one skiing, the other playing squash (on September 11, 2001 as it happened). It was almost worth it to get the video of the operation. Nice!

Travel

Helen travels extensively and I occasionally tag along. Out trips have included:

• India (2003)
